Meta-chat

Multi-view puts up to four transcripts on screen, but each pane still asks for its own attention - an operator responsible for six agents cannot read six panes at once. Meta-chat turns the sessions assigned to you into a single stream: every message from every one of your live sessions, interleaved in the order it was sent, with each session in its own colour. You scan one feed instead of watching several.

Switching it on

Press the Meta-chat button under the scope dropdown in the rail, or press m. The button carries a count of the live sessions currently assigned to you and is greyed out when there are none. Meta-chat is a mode of the transcript pane: it replaces whatever you had open, and switching it off brings that back. The mode is part of the page URL (?meta=true), so a meta-chat view can be bookmarked or shared with a colleague, who will see their own assigned sessions in it.

Meta-chat always shows the sessions assigned to you, whichever scope the rail is set to. Ended sessions drop out of the stream the moment they end, and so do sessions you have muted - they return, with their messages, the moment the agent speaks again.

Reading the stream

The pane has a legend across the top and the stream below it. The legend stays put while the stream scrolls.

• Legend - one chip per session, in the session's colour, with its avatar, name and a liveness dot (the same Active / Quiet cue as the rail). A red counter on a chip is how many of that session's messages you have not read yet. Hover a chip and its runs light up in the stream while the rest fade, which is the quickest way to pick one conversation out of a busy feed.
• Runs - consecutive messages from one session group under a single stripe in that colour, headed once by the session chip. Inside a run each message is one line of a log: the time, who spoke, and what they said. The agent's name is in the session's colour on every line; a human turn shows the person's name and avatar on a line highlighted in that same colour, so who is speaking is never in doubt and every run stays one hue.
• Time gaps - a pause of five minutes or more between messages is marked with the time the stream resumed.
• Long messages - anything longer than a couple of lines is clamped with a Show more toggle. The stream is for scanning; the transcript is for reading in full.

While you are looking at the stream (the window focused and the pane scrolled to the bottom) every session in it counts as read, and their sidebar notifications clear. A New messages rule marks where you left off when you come back, and the counters on the legend chips tell you which sessions moved on while you were away.

Colours

Each session keeps one colour for as long as it is live. A new session takes the least-used colour rather than shifting everyone else along, so the colour you have learnt for an agent does not change under you when another session ends. With more than ten sessions colours repeat; the chip always carries the avatar and name, so identity never rests on the hue alone. While meta-chat is on, the rail cards show the same colour square before each name.

Jumping in

Click a session's chip - in the legend or at the head of a run - to open that session's full transcript with its action controls. That leaves meta-chat; press m or the button again to return to the stream, which picks up where it was. Selecting a card in the rail, using the multi-view menu or pressing j / k also leaves meta-chat.

Tool results

Agents often send the raw result of a tool call as a message of its own. Meta-chat never shows those as bubbles. When the result answers a call in the stream, it folds into that call's chip with a tick or cross and opens on click; a result nothing in the window claims appears as a single collapsed line.
